Sky’s Rider Hagen Out of Flanders
The Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen was injured and withdrew from the Tour of Flanders, which will be on Sunday, announced Wednesday by his team Sky.
Boasson Hagen, who won last year’s Ghent-Wevelgem, is not completely healed from the pain in his Achilles tendon which continues from Milan-Sanremo (March 20) race.
It should be better by Paris-Roubaix (April 11), hopes Team Sky.
“I’m sad to miss the Tour of Flanders, a race which I thought a long time, reacted on the rider. Obviously, this is not what I expected. But I think I have a good chance of being ready for Paris-Roubaix is a great goal for me. ”
The young Norwegian, 22, will be replaced by New Zealander Greg Henderson, the recent winner of the first stage of Paris-Nice.
