Niki Terpstra to lead German ProTour team in the Netherlands

Dortmund, 11 August 2010. After his impressive solo victory in the Sparkassen Giro in Bochum, Niki Terpstra is going to lead Team MILRAM in the Dutch Food Valley Classic this coming Friday (13 August/1.HC). In the 25th edition of the Dutch one-day race starting and finishing in Veenendaal and covering 209.9 kilometers, the Dutch national champion will be joined by his team-mates Wim De Vocht, Markus Eichler, Thomas Fothen, Artur Gajek and Wim Stroetinga, as well as stagiaires Stefan Schäfer and Michael Weicht.

Team MILRAM can look back on some good results in the Dutch one-day race in the past. With Wim Stroetinga in eighth place in the 2009 edition, Niki Terpstra fifth in 2008 and Elia Rigotto also fifth in 2007, the German ProTour team lists three top ten places in the last three years.

The race, which used to bear the name Veenendaal-Veenendaal, dates back to the year 1985. Since then, three German riders were able to capture a victory: Olaf Ludwig in 1995, Steffen Radochla in 2007, and MILRAM’s Robert Förster in 2008, when he was still riding for Team Gerolsteiner.
