Team MILRAM Starts In The GP des Kantons Aargau

Captain Gerald Ciolek leads the German ProTour team in the challenging Swiss one-day race

Dortmund, 04. June 2010. With captain Gerald Ciolek leading them, Team MILRAM will start on Sunday in the Grand Prix des Kantons Aargau (June 6 / UCI 1.HC). The sprinter showed his increasingly good form with his win in the queen stage of the Bayern Rundfahrt after a long race pause due to a soulder injury, and will lead a strong team in Switzerland. In addition to the U23 World champion of 2003, Directeur Sportif Jochen Hahn can look to Germans Robert Förster, Johannes Fröhlinger, Dominik Nerz, Artur Gajek, Matthias Russ, and Björn Schröder. The seven German riders will be supported in the challenging one-day race, which last year was won by former MILRAM rider Peter Velits, by Dutch rider Servais Knaven.

„The race is very challenging,“ said MILRAM captain Gerald Ciolek. „With many laps of the course and the climbing meters, it will surely not be easy, but it ought to fit good to me and the team. At the same time our appearance in Gippingen is a good test for the upcoming Tour de Suisse.“

The GP Kanton Aargau takes place on a challening 12.k kilometer long course around the city of Gippingen. Each of the 16 laps covered 180 climiging meters. Last yer former MILRAM rider Peter Velits was able to win the race in a solo attack.
