MILAN (Italy) – Eight new riders, including Spain’s Luis Leon Sanchez will join the Rabobank team in 2011, it was reported Friday from the Dutch team that has said it had completed its recruitment for the 2011 season.
Luis Leon Sanchez (Caisse d’Epargne), who won the Clasica San Sebastian this year. The Dane Matti Breschel (Saxo Bank), second in the recent World Championships, has also signed a two-year contract.
Other reinforcements, again for 2011 and 2012, is Theo Bos (Cervelo), former world champion on the track, and Spaniard Carlos Barredo, and Belgium’s Maarten Wynants (Quick Step).
Three young riders will join the next year the group’s ranks
Dutch Coen, Tom Jelte Slagter Vermeltfoort, and Michael Matthews.
Departing Rabobank includes Russia’s Denis Menchov to Team Geox.
