[13.04 13:40] It has been a very successful past month for Team Saxo Bank. With convincing victories in Volta a Catalunya (Jens Voigt and Juan José Haedo, Dwars door Vlaanderen (Matti Breschel), E3 Prijs Vlaanderen – Harelbeke, Flandern Rundt and Paris-Roubaix (Fabian Cancellara), the Danish squad has completely dominated the most important races this Spring.
The team is now in a switching phase where the cobblestone experts after a job well done are being replaced by a combative delegation to do the Ardennes Classics, Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonie and Liege-Bastogne- Liege where Andy Schleck last year took a beautiful solo victory.
Matti Breschel is forced to take a break from cycling for at least a week due to tendonitis in his knee. Kasper Klostergaard who once again fought heroically in the front of the Paris-Roubaix, crashed with 50 kilometers to go but made it through the race with a knee that needed four stitches.
Besides the two wounded soldiers, it is worth to notice Team Saxo Bank’s young and hopeful German, Dominic Klemme who did a tremendously impressive job during Paris-Roubaix and finished 14th after having been taking the wind and protecting his captain in front of the peloton before the finale.
