Prologue – Warm up, ride as hard as you can, post a terrible time, wonder how Taylor Phinney can ride so incredibly fast.

Stage 1 – Woh! That was bad, epic bad. We rode out of Ogden at 50kph, kinda uphill. Then we hit the first climb of the day, I tried to breath through the straw that was given to me at Salt Lake Airport, it really didn’t work to well. We formed a groupetto, I then blew my doors off on the final climb, limped home and am trying to restore myself to attempt to do it all tomorrow. Tim had a nasty crash at 70kph on a downhill, the dude has road rash all over his body, including on his chest. I assume he will have to stand up to sleep tonight, there is no way his body should go anywhere near any bed linen! Hard going for him today. He didn’t pull the pin, just got back on his bike and rode the rest of the stage. Tough.
