Theo Bos (NED) left the hospital yesterday evening after his crash in the time trial in the Vuelta a España. “I was focused on my time trial position and didn’t see the motorbike that was parked at the side of the road,” said Bos. “It was a hard and painful crash but I am really glad that there is nothing broken.”
“Theo has contusions on his upper and lower back and hematomas on his legs,” said Andreas Goesele, team doctor. “We expect him to fly home tomorrow, and we will do further examinations in Holland.”
Claudia Häusler (GER) is not yet able to leave the hospital but hopes to do so in a few days. Häusler crashed badly on her head yesterday during the second stage of the Giro della Toscana.
“Claudia has a head injury but is doing fine now. She will have a final examination tomorrow, a CT scan of her head, and then we will try to transport her to Germany,” said Goesele.
