Whitten Makes Her Point and Wins More Gold

COPENHAGEN, March 28, 2010 (AFP) – Canada’s Tara Whitten won the women’s points race gold to claim her second gold of the world track cycling championships here on Sunday.

New Zealand’s Lauren Ellis finished second to win the silver with Tatsiania Sharakova of Belarus winning the bronze in third place.

Whitten claimed her first world title on Saturday when she came out top in the five-event omnium, which will make its Olympic debut at the London Games of 2012.
