Contador Reported To Be Racing Tour of Algrave
MADRID, Feb 15, 2011 (AFP) – Three-time Tour de France champion Alberto
Contador, cleared of knowingly using banned drugs, will take part in the Tour
of Algarve from Wednesday, his spokesman said.
“Alberto Contador has been officially cleared by the Royal Spanish Cycling
Federation (RFEC) and has been authorized to return to competition
immediately,” the spokesman, Jacinto Vidarte, said in a statement Tuesday.
“If everything goes well, the rider will take the start, tomorrow, at the
Tour of Algarve” in Portugal.
Contador has won the past two editions of the early season stage race.
