Italian fitness coach Michele Ferrari who is under a broad inquiry into doping in cycling, has asked to be heard by prosecutor Padua Benedetto Roberti, it is being reported said by his lawyer’s statement.
The statement also stands against “violations of secrecy instruction, which does certainly not come from the magistrate who led the investigation. ”
Dr. Michele Ferrari serve notice and without any form of defamation, whether from media or individuals, “stated his lawyer.
April 15, searches conducted as part of an investigation led by Padua Benedetto Roberti have targeted two riders of the Italian Lampre team, Michele Scarponi and Leonardo Bertagnolli.
Other searches were done on the previous day in Lonato, on Lake Garda, have involved the riders Russia (Gusev, Ignatiev, Karpets, Kolobnev, Petrov) who are being suspected to have had been in contact with Ferrari.
Ferrari, who is 58 years old, has had a bad reputation since repeated successes in 1994 with the Gewiss team riders. Since 2002, The Italian Olympic Committee (Coni) has banned Italian cyclists to have any contact with him on penalty of suspension, a decision described as “anachronistic and unfair” Tuesday by Ferrari’s lawyer.
