(Louisville, KY -September 22, 2011) – The organizers of the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross, the largest and most prestigious cyclocross series in America, today announced Exergy Development Group as the new title sponsor for the series.
Based in Boise, Idaho Exergy’s primary focus is utility -scale renewable energy facilities that are innovative while being socially and environmentally responsible. Exergy is the proud sponsor of Team Exergy, a top professional men’s cycling team with UCI Continental status for the 2011 racing season and the new title sponsor of the Exergy Twenty12 Professional Women’s Cycling Team. Exergy Development Group is pleased to extend their support for the sport of cycling to the discipline of Cyclocross.
Cyclocross is the fastest growing discipline of bicycle racing in the United States where the grassroots participation is rapidly becoming a model for the international cycling community.
Since 2004 The US Gran Prix of Cyclocross has been America’s premiere series, featuring eight days of UCI sanctioned racing over four weekends in the fall including: The Planet Bike Cup in Sun Prairie, WI on September 24th and 25th; The New Belgium Cup in Fort Collins, CO on October 8th and 9th; The Derby City Cup presented by Papa John’s in Louisville, KY on November 12th and 13th; and The Deschutes Brewery Cup in Bend, OR on December 10th and 11th. The USGP features the strongest, fastest and deepest professional fields racing in America as well as retaining a commitment to providing a top-notch experience for all racers from first-timer racer through professional.
