Are you freezing your butt off right now? Are you getting tired of riding your bike on the indoor trainer every day? Well guess what. I’m not. Currently as I look out my office window it is 75* and sunny, with a slight breeze. No, I am not kidding. In fact to piss you off even more, I am wearing shorts and a T-shirt. So why do I tell you this?
As great as the weather is right now in SoCal, it brings a whole host of other problems. Like the 2011 race season starts on Sunday for me, and I am only ½ way through my base phase. How in the hell can we have the race “Season” run from January to December (drizzle or shine).
I am pissed. I am going to show up to fly the team colors on Sunday and hope that all the other Master boneheads are going to suck wind just like me. I hope that no one has really good form so that I will not have to dig too deep into the hurt locker yet. I know suck it up, stop your bitchin, and start riding. Sounds easy enough, except the mind has not come of “off season”, even if the body has started too.
Before you tell me to shut up, and kit up, I have to tell you that I have two secret weapons this year. One I told you about last season, and even though the word got out about this product last year, I will bet that only a few of you have jumped on the ASEA bandwagon (see my product review HERE). So as I load up on ASEA and you don’t, I can only hope that it will help level the playing field for me.
The second secret is that I am now training with a coach who is actually making me work on things like core, and technique, and other BS I never did before because I was always go out and ride hard, and when there was a free second in the day, go ride more.
In the next blog post I will let you know who this coach is, and why we picked him here at Bicycle.net. But until then know that just about every part of my body is hurting. And I officially do not like yoga, even if it is supposed to make me a better racer.
So now that I have opened up my big mouth and let you know the secrets for 2011. You can expect more and bigger results. Come on call me out on them. Make me succeed. And don’t piss me off.

I like your attitude. Maybe with the exception of the 75 degrees part because we hit about 18 here today in Chicagoland. So, we enjoy our bike trainer, like it or not. grrrrrrr. Actually, some of just enjoy cycling in general and getting a good leg pump and some great cardio is just an added benefit.
