Danish outfit SaxoBank have confirmed that they will have no Spanish riders in their line-up for this year’s Tour of Spain,
which starts next Saturday in Benidorm.
Alberto Contador, who won this year’s Giro d’Italia before finishing fifth in the Tour de France, decided to skip the year’s third Grand Tour, while Jesus Hernandez, Benjamin Noval and Dani Navarro have all chosen not to participate.
However, Belgian Nick Nuyens, winner of April’s Tour of Flanders, Danish climber Chris Anker Sorensen, and Argentine sprinter Juan Jose Haedo will be in the SaxoBank team.
