Team Garmin-Cerve?lo not only boasts an incredible rider line-up which includes Farrar (US), Hushovd (NO), Haussler (AU), Millar (UK), Vande Velde (US), Zabriskie (US), Hammond (UK), and Hesjedal (CA), but they’ve also chosen the componentry that most recently won Paris-Rou- baix, the Tour of Flanders and the Road World Championships: SRAM RED.
The team’s Cerve?lo S3’s will be fully equipped with SRAM RED’s drive- train and brakes, including the 58g titanium cage front derailleur, the 153g rear derailleur that comes standard with hybrid ceramic pulley bearings, DoubleTap shift levers, skeletonized dual pivot brake cali- pers, the stronger and quieter PC-1091R chain, OG-1090 cassette, and SRAM’s incredibly smooth Pro Cable System by Gore RideOn®.
SRAM’s Global Marketing Director, David Zimberoff, said, “We are thrilled to continue our relationship with innovators at Cerve?lo and, given the incredible horsepower of the Garmin-Cervelo team, we are incredibly excited about their potential.”
After two years away, veteran David Millar was excited about returning to the gruppo that was the most comfortable and fastest shifting he’d ever ridden. “I loved SRAM when I first rode it, it’s great to be back on it, and it does exactly what I ask of it.”
Garmin-Cerve?lo features 39 of the world’s best men and women, and Slipstream sports – the team’s parent com- pany – also runs a Men’s Continental team and junior development squad.
Best-in-class SRAM RED componentry has been guided by athletes to wins at every major road race on the planet, and is the equipment of choice for eight top UCI ProTeams in 2011. Precise shifting, perfect ergonomics, and incred- ibly light weight, aligned with SRAM’s innovative technologies, including DoubleTap and Exact Actuation, provide the world’s best riders the world’s fastest gruppo.
