There have been six races on the USA Cycling Professional Cyclo-cross Calendar (Pro CX) in the past two weeks. In that span, the riders have competed in the USGP of Cyclocross-The SmartWool Cup p/b FC Bikes on Oct. 13 and 14 in Fort Collins, Colo., Downeast Cyclocross NECX in New Gloucester, Maine, and Spooky Cross Weekend in Pomona, Calif. on Oct. 20 and 21.
The Pro CX men’s standings are largely unchanged after the last two weeks of racing. Jeremy Powers (Easthampton, Mass./Team Rapha-FOCUS) added 120 points to his cushion on second-place rider Nicholas Bazin (FRA/Team Auber 93). Powers swept the two races in Fort Collins to collect 120 points and boost his total to 510 points. Nicholas Bazin’s (FRA/Team Auber 93) total of 368 points remains unchanged, but Ben Berden (BEL/Raleigh-Clement) collected 50 points after finishing third and fifth in the two races in Colorado. Timothy Johnson (Topsfield, Mass./Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) added 24 points to his total over the last two weeks with a pair of top-10 finishes in Fort Collins. Johnson now has 269 points, only 34 points behind Berden and just five points ahead of Ryan Trebon (Bend, Ore./Cannondale-Clement). Trebon finished second in Sunday’s race in Colorado.
This past weekend, Justin Lindine (New Salem, Mass./Redline) and Adam Craig (Bend, Ore./Giant Rabobank Team) won the Downeast Cyclocross NECX races on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Michael Sherer (Glencoe, Ill./Optum) and Mark McConnell (Brawley, Calif./Synergy Racing) topped the two podiums at Spooky Cross Weekend in Pomona, Calif. on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Helen Wyman (GBR/Kona Factory Team) and Gabriella Day (GBR/Team Rapha-Focus) remain the top two riders on the Pro CX women’s standings. Wyman has 540 points while Day has earned 366 points. Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Trek Cyclocross Collective) swept the two races in Fort Collins to add 120 points to her total. Compton jumped into third place in the standings with 300 points. Crystal Anthony (Beverly, Mass./LadiesFirst Racing) swept the two Downeast Cyclocross NECX races in Maine to move into fourth place with 299 points. Arley Kemmerer (Saylorsburg, Pa./C3-Athletes Serving Athletes) dropped into fifth place with 206 points.
Teal Stetson-Lee (Durango, Colo./Luna Pro Team) and Elle Anderson (San Francisco, Calif./LadiesFirst Racing) earned victories at the two Spooky Cross Weekend races.

There are plenty of opportunities for points over the next two weeks as there are eight races slated in that time. On Oct. 27, the cyclo-cross calendar moves to Boulder, Colo. for the Colorado Cross Cup before the riders contest the Boulder Cup the next day. Also on Oct. 28, riders will compete in Jamesburg, N.J., in the HPCX. On Nov. 2, the Cincy3 Darkhorse Cyclo-Stampede will be in Covington, Ky., before a pair of races on Nov. 3. In Cincinnati, Ohio, on Nov. 3 and 4, the riders are slated to contest the Cincy3 Lionhearts International-Cross After Dark and the Cincy3 Harbin Park International. Those races mark the first opportunity for juniors riders to score points this season. Also on Nov. 3 and 4, riders will compete in the NEPCX Cyclo-Smart International in Northampton, Mass.
USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Calendar
On the USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Calendar (CXNC), Laura van Gilder (Cresco, Pa./Mellow Mushroom) and Ryan DeWald (Mount Penn, Pa./SEAVS-Haymarket Bicycles) topped the women’s and men’s podiums, respectively at the DCCX presented by Raleigh Bicycles.
The calendar concludes on Nov. 11 with the 26th Outdoors Inc. Cyclocross Championships in Memphis, Tenn.
