The day the Dromarti Sportivo “Classic” bicycle shoes showed up on my door I was excited more than the usual product review excitement. From the website and advertising I had seen about the Dromarti shoes they looked beautiful, and I was dying to get my feet in a pair.
To say that they did not disappoint is a huge understatement. As I opened the box they came in VeloWife happened to be walking by and saw their dramatic exit from the tissue paper they were wrapped in and she very seductively stated – Wow, those are Classy! Classy is the perfect word for them. They are a work of art in the form of a functional bicycle shoe.
They fit me great right out of the box, but after a few rides with them they now fit like a supple leather glove. I use them to commute to work and back, and most days I do not even bother to take them off because they look so good with my slacks and dress shirt. In fact, almost every woman in the office has commented how beautiful the shoes are, and they have no idea that they are bike shoes.
I have now been using them for 2 months and I am so pleased with them. They are super comfortable and have held up perfect. Be prepared for a very long lasting relationship with them, they are going to last a lifetime. No matter where I wear them I get the “hey dude, where did you get those?”. They stand out in a crowd for sure. They are a bit costly at $240.00 but as far as I am concerned they are worth every penny.
The upper is hand made using the highest quality leather, with impressively beautiful stitching. They have perforations in the leather for ventilation. The soft leather inside is smooth and does not cause any hot spots. You can use them with almost any pedal system, and they have a model that will work perfect with toe clips. They are produced in very limited quantities so you better get yours quickly. They are produced in Italy and it shows.
