Frenchman Jean-Christophe Peraud Abandons Tour After Double Crash

CHORGES, France, July 17, 2013 (AFP) – France’s Jean-Christophe Peraud, of
the AG2R team, abandoned the Tour de France Tuesday after suffering injuries
in two crashes.

Peraud, the hosts’ best chance of a top finish in the general
classification, suffered a fractured collarbone in a crash which occurred as
he reconnoitered the 17th stage time trial over 32 km from Embrun to Chorges.
