Blanco Pro Cycling Team dominates the second stage in the Tour de Langkawi with Theo Bos taking his second consecutive stage win. His teammates controlled the race and ended with a good lead-out. Bos opened the sprint early and beat Andrea Guardini (Astana) and Aidis Kruopis (Orica-GreenEdge) on the finish line.
“This stage was very short and fast, therefore hard to control for the team. Jetse Bol, Marc Goos and Jos van Emden where pacing at the front of the bunch early in the race. That helped me over the second category climb with a good rhythm. The gap of the breakaway was never a threat. Tom Leezer and Graeme Brown kept me in the front during the last kilometres. Graeme had a great lead-out again. I opened the sprint, but didn’t know it was still 300 metres to go. It all ended well for us. Tomorrow is an uphill finish, so we’ll ride for Marc Goos. Today’s temperature was real nice and cool with 31 degrees,” laughed Bos afterwards.
