COPENHAGEN, May 27, 2014 (AFP) – Omega Pharma’s Danish sporting director
and cyclist Brian Holm said on Tuesday he had been charged with sexually
assaulting a child, which local media reported was a girl under the age of 12.
The 51-year-old said he chose to come forward because people around him
already knew about the charges, even though a court in the Frederiksberg
municipality in central Copenhagen had banned the media from naming him.
“Yesterday evening my daughter came home from school. Some other children
had told her to do things she didn’t want to do, or they would tell people
that her father is a criminal,” Holm said at a press conference.
He said he was banned from disclosing any further information about the
case. Holm has denied the charges according to documents seen by a Danish
