Niki Terpstra Takes Early Lead In Tour of Qatar

DUKHAN BEACH, Qatar, Feb 09, 2014 (AFP) – Dutch rider Niki Terpstra won the
first stage of the Tour of Qatar on Sunday to take the overall lead.

The 29-year-old Omega Pharma cyclist — third in last year’s Paris to
Roubaix classic — won in a sprint finish on Dhukan Beach edging out Belgian
Jurgen Roelandts and Michael Schaer of Switzerland.

On Monday the second stage sees the peloton tackle the ride between the
Camel Race Track and Al Khor.
