PARIS, Jan 30, 2014 – Tour of Spain winner Chris Horner has signed
for Lampre, the Italian team confirmed on Thursday.

The 42-year-old American has been without a team since leaving RadioShack
last year. Lampre will be the 12th team for whom the Japanese-born rider has
competed.

Horner, who turned professional in 1995, is expected to compete in two big
races this season – the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta where he will defend his
title.

Lampre have been rebuilding their team for next season and also signed Rui
Costa, a few weeks before the Portuguese rider became world champion.

The Italian outfit also have in their ranks Italian Diego Ulissi – winner
of a stage in the Tour Down Under – his compatriot Damiano Cunego and Polish
climbing specialist Przemyslaw Niemiec, sixth in last year’s Giro.

Horner will line up for his new team in the Mallorca Challenge from
February 9-12 in Spain.
